The Director General and Chief Executive of the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), Dr. Matthew Adepoju, has charged members of staff to imbibe the culture of continuous self improvement, saying that a skilled and constantly evolving workforce is key to boosting efficiency, thereby accelerating development in space science and technology.

He made this known during an interactive session with staff held in commemoration of the Customer Service Week at the Agency’s headquarters in Abuja.

Dr Adepoju explained that, self development is not only essential for individual growth but also a critical factor in achieving the Agency’s strategic objectives towards enhancing socioeconomic development of the country.

He noted that the dynamic nature of space science and technology demands constant learning, innovation, and adaptability from all staff.

The NASRDA Boss further noted that his administration will continue to provide staff with the opportunity to express their opinions and suggestions, as such feedback would help the Agency improve its operations for the benefit of staff and the nation at large.

While appreciating the management and staff for their unalloyed support, the DG pointed that a solid home base is the foundation upon which he is able to deliver, reaffirming that collective strength and unity of purpose remain driving forces behind NASRDA’s progress.

Dr Adepoju revealed that in order to encourage staff productivity, the Agency will henceforth recognize and reward outstanding staff monthly under the “Best Staff of the Month initiative”, which will be based on punctuality, adherence to the Public Service Rules (PSR), and other performance indicators.

The maiden award for the month of September was presented to the Director of Media and Corporate Communications, Dr. Felix Ale, in recognition of his dedication to the Agency and his consistent reputation, dedication to work and his decent and neat appearance which has earned him the Best Dressed Male among the staff.

While delivering the first lecture on Workforce Discipline, the Director, Human Resources Management department, Hajia Bilkisu Ahmed highlighted that true discipline is reflected not just in performance, but in attitude, consistency, and the ability to work collectively towards a common goal, as it ultimately mirrors one’s character and professionalism.

The Director of Administration, Hajia Saadatu Sani, delivering the second lecture with focus on code of conduct and work ethics that guide the Agency’s operations stressed the need for all employees to uphold values such as integrity, transparency and accountability in the discharge of their duties.

Concluding the lecture segment, the Director, Media and Corporate Communications, Dr. Felix Ale focused on the importance of professionalism, decency, and commitment in the workplace, stressing that proper dressing reflects readiness to work and contributes to building a culture of excellence.

Dr. Ale further highlighted the need for mutual respect among colleagues, noting that harmonious relationships foster productivity and organizational growth.

Highlight of the event was an interactive session where staff raised concerns on issues bothering them, and the Director General reassured them of management’s commitment to their well-being while urging teamwork and dedication to national service.
