‎The Director General and Chief Executive of the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), Dr. Matthew Adepoju, has said that space technology remains the most effective solution to the challenges facing nations across the globe, particularly in advancing  education.

‎He made this statement during a courtesy visit by a delegation from the Future African Space Explorer STEM Academy (FASESA) to NASRDA’s headquarters in Abuja.

‎Dr. Adepoju expressed enthusiasm for the visit, noting that a relationship with FASESA will accelerate development through its “Pathway to Space” program, which empowers young people with opportunities in space science, space-based solutions, and education nationwide.

‎According to him, the program will not only create massive awareness on the relevance of space science and technology  but will also help groom young minds in STEM fields, thereby preparing a new generation of innovators and problem solvers for Nigeria and Africa.

The NASRDA boss, who assured FASESA of the Agency’s full support, emphasized that initiatives such as this not only recognize the potentials of African youths but also serve the greater purpose of promoting humanity and global cooperation.

‎Speaking earlier, the founder of FASESA and leader of the delegation, Mr. Sean Jacobs, explained that their visit sought to strengthen collaboration with NASRDA, tap into its expertise, and create opportunities to engage Nigerian students with exceptional interest and performance in the “Pathway to Space” project.

‎He stated that the “Pathway to Space” program has recorded significant growth in recent years with the rising number of Nigerian participants, adding that NASRDA’s support will play a crucial role in multiplying its success.

‎Mr. Jacobs further stated that FASESA is seeking stronger collaboration with NASRDA to expand the reach of its projects to more states across Nigeria, with the goal of impacting a larger number of students through free participation in its STEM and space-related programs.
