The Director General and Chief Executive of the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), Dr. Matthew Adepoju, has called for sustained collaboration with experts and relevant stakeholders in ensuring the actualisation of the Nigerian Space Programme.

He made the statement while playing host to the Director General, Defense Research and Development Bureau (DRDB) during a courtesy visit at the Agency’s headquarters in Abuja.

Dr. Adepoju who expressed delight for the timely visit emphasized the need to strengthen partnership with the Bureau, noting that such collaborations are essential in tackling national security challenges, stimulating economic growth, and driving overall national development.

The Director General stressed the importance of integrating GPS systems into military hardware and boots, explaining that this innovation would enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness in the field.

The NASRDA boss highlighted that the joint partnership between NASRDA and DRDB will reinforce the capacities of both Agencies while boosting the morale of military personnel across the country.

Dr. Adepoju added that improved civilian–military interface will help foster innovation and strengthen national unity.

Speaking earlier, the Director General of the Defense Research and Development Bureau (DRDB), Rear Admiral Kehinde Odubanjo, commended the NASRDA leadership for the prompt response to their request and warm reception accorded them.

He expressed his commitment to driving impactful capacity-building programmes with NASRDA to deepen staff knowledge, sharpen strategic skills, and strengthen Nigeria’s defense research and innovation.

Rear Admiral Odubanjo noted that since assuming office at the Bureau, he has introduced programmes designed to enhance staff competence, enhance research capabilities, and develop them into highly skilled contributors to national development.

He however, called for continued collaboration with NASRDA for the overall betterment of the nation.
