Overview

The Atlantic International Research Centre (AIR Centre) at NASRDA is dedicated to fostering international cooperation in space science, Earth observation, and environmental sustainability. It serves as a hub for multidisciplinary research, leveraging satellite technology and data analytics to address global challenges related to climate change, ocean monitoring, and natural resource management. The center collaborates with governments, research institutions, and private organizations to advance scientific knowledge and technological innovation.

Mandates

  • To provide an international collaborative framework to address global challenges and local priorities in the Atlantic Ocean.
  • To promote an integrative approach to climate and ocean issues, supported by technological innovations and international cooperation.
  • Promote, develop, and manage project/research development and innovation, and collaborative agreements with various partners.
  • Launch national and international congresses, conferences, and workshops to promote scientific and technological output and raise awareness.
 

OBJECTIVES

  •  Marine Science and Technology: Using assessments and studies to generate coastal area monitoring data.
  • Emerging Technology: Engaging in high-end knowledge and skills to develop technological tools, including Artificial Intelligence (AI).
  • Data Science: Applying statistics and computer science for analytical studies.
  • Space Applications: Building on existing knowledge in Earth Observation (EO) and geo-information science.
