The Director General and Chief Executive of the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), Dr. Matthew Adepoju, has been inducted as Special Marshal by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).

The induction took place during the 16th National Summit of Special Marshals held at the National Judicial Institute, Abuja where the NASRDA boss was decorated alongside other distinguished personalities.

The recognition was conferred on him in acknowledgment of his contributions to human capital development, patriotism, and technology driven initiatives enhancing road safety operations through digitalization.

An honour of this magnitude re-affirms Dr. Adepoju’s commitment to community service and his leadership in applying space science and technology for national development and innovative digital solutions to improve road safety across Nigeria.

Speaking at the event, the President of the Court of Appeal, Hon. Justice Monica Dongban-Mensem, commended Dr. Adepoju’s volunteerism as a noble act of selfless service to community and national development.

According to her, government alone cannot shoulder all responsibilities therefore, citizens must collaborate with institutions and show interest in public functions to complement the efforts of officials performing key duties.

The Special Marshals are the volunteer arm of the Federal Road Safety Corps created under Section 10 (1) of the FRSC Act, comprising uniformed and non-uniformed members who voluntarily support the Corps in promoting safer roads and compliance with traffic regulations.
