The Director General and Chief Executive, National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), Dr. Matthew Adepoju, has emphasized the need for purposeful leadership as a bedrock for transformation especially in the educational sub-system of any given Society.
He made this statement while receiving a high-level delegation from Hillside University of Science and Technology, Okemesi, Ekiti State, at NASRDA’s headquarters in Abuja.
Dr. Adepoju explained that what makes a university outstanding depends solely on leadership, adding that for a leader to be successful, there is a need for a committed and dedicated team.
The NASRDA Boss while assuring that the Agency will explore areas of collaboration with the University, stated that the Memorandum of Understanding, (MOU) should have provisions where opportunities will be given to the staff of the Agency to play strategic roles.
He noted the importance of providing attractive remuneration and other welfare packages which according to him, will encourage performance and promote efficiency for positive results.
Commending the leadership of Hillside University of Science and Technology, particularly its Vice Chancellor, Prof. Iheanyichukwu Okoro, Dr. Adepoju described the initiative to partner with NASRDA as a step towards success.
He expressed confidence in the Vice Chancellor’s commitment to harnessing Aerospace Engineering for economic growth and national development.
Speaking earlier, the Vice Chancellor of Hillside University of Science and Technology, Okemesi, Ekiti State, Prof. Iheanyichukwu Okoro, expressed his desire for NASRDA’s support in advancing academic progress, particularly in the fields of mechanical engineering, mechatronics, and aerospace.
Prof. Okoro pledged that the university will not only formalize the MoU but will also ensure its full implementation.
He assured that Hillside University is committed to upholding the agreement and fostering academic growth among its staff.
The Vice Chancellor noted that the university is fully equipped to ensure the success of the collaboration without any setbacks.
