The Director General and Chief Executive, National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), Dr. Matthew Adepoju, has officially inaugurated a Movie Production Committee, with the responsibility to produce a high quality Space themed movie in collaboration with a renown nollywood actor Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD).
Dr. Adepoju while inaugurating the committee at the NASRDA headquarters in Abuja charged them to produce a movie
that simplifies complex Scientific concepts that everyday Nigerians can comprehend.
He emphasized the importance of the committee’s mandate, urging members to approach the task with utmost professionalism and creativity.
According to him, the entertainment industry remains a powerful tool for strategic communication and must be harnessed to explore, capture, and unveil the wonders of Space Science in a relatable and engaging manner.
Dr. Adepoju further urged the committee to produce a unique narrative that showcases NASRDA’s relevance to national development, stressing that no modern society can thrive without space technology.
He also urged the committee to seek strategic partnerships with individuals and organizations that have the capacity and commitment to contribute meaningfully to the project, noting that collaboration is key to the realization of the goal.
Earlier, the movie Icon Richard Mofe Damijo (RMD), appreciated the DG for his vision and promised to work with the committee to ensure success.
He said documentaries will be produced to properly enlighten the public about Space exploration and its relevance to our daily lives, adding that a better understanding will help attract investors to the project.
The Veteran Nolywood Legend further stated that the program is vital and extends beyond NASRDA, as it will go a long way in shaping public perception and creating a more impactful nation.
In his remarks, the chairman of the committee and Director, Media and Corporate Communications, Dr. Felix Ale, expressed gratitude for the collaboration, stating that it has the potential to showcase NASRDA to both Nigerians and the global community.
The Media Boss commended the DG for his foresight in initiating such an innovative idea and assured him that the committee will work closely with RMD, to ensure the successful realization of this timely vision.
