The Director General of the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), Dr. Matthew Adepoju, has stated that the Agency is fully in tune with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda to drive excellence, accountability, and innovation in Nigeria’s space programme.

He made this statement while receiving the leadership of the Tinubu Support Group on a courtesy visit at the Agency’s headquarters in Abuja.

Dr. Adepoju explained that NASRDA is advancing its mandate by strengthening capacity development, upgrading critical technological infrastructure, and expanding strategic partnerships, which directly align with President Tinubu’s vision for national transformation, and space and science technology development of the nation.

According to him, these initiatives are propelling Nigeria toward regional leadership in space technology as well as long-term national growth.

While highlighting the Agency’s recent achievements under President Tinubu’s leadership, the NASRDA Boss outlined key milestones to include the review of the Agency’s salary structure, presidential approval for National Space regulations, and the authorization to launch four new Satellites to boost communication, environmental monitoring, and national security.

Dr Adepoju emphasized that these accomplishments reflect the President’s firm commitment to harnessing Space science and technology as tools for growth, innovation, and prosperity.

He assured the group of the Agency’s readiness to support initiatives that promote youth capacity building and national development, stressing that equipping young Nigerians with Space-related skills is vital to securing the nation’s technological future.

In his remarks, the leader of the delegation, Dr. Umar Yakasai, congratulated the Director-General on his well-deserved appointment and commended his leadership, particularly in advancing human development and professional growth within NASRDA.

Dr. Yakasai added that the group is ready to collaborate with the Agency on initiatives that will deliver mutual value and strengthen Nigeria’s space programme here and beyond.
