The Director-General and Chief Executive, National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), Dr. Matthew Adepoju, has strongly emphasized the strategic importance of public-private partnerships as a catalyst for innovation, economic growth, and sustainable development in Nigeria’s Space program.

Dr. Adepoju made this known during a courtesy call by Milsat Technologies Limited at the Agency’s headquarters in Abuja.

He highlighted NASRDA’s mandate to serve the Nigerian people through innovation, regulation, and the responsible application of space-based solutions, adding that well-structured partnerships with the private sector are essential for translating space technology into real-world impact.

According to him, NASRDA remains committed to deepening inclusive public-private collaborations that strengthen governance, expand industry participation, create jobs, and position Nigeria as a leading space-faring nation in Africa.

In his remarks, the Chief Executive Officer, Milsat Technologies Limited, Mr. Taslim Salaudeen, described discussions with NASRDA as highly productive, stating that collaboration between government and the private sector is critical for value creation, technology transfer, and sustainable innovation.

He explained that Milsat Technologies Limited is keen on working with NASRDA to deploy space and satellite-enabled solutions that will stimulate private sector growth while opening new pathways for skills development and youth employment.

Mr. Salaudeen added that the proposed collaboration would extend services across Nigeria and the West African sub-region, creating jobs, strengthening technical capacity, and deepening the role of space technology in driving regional development.
