The Director-General and Chief Executive, National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), Dr. Matthew Adepoju, has said that strategic partnerships are essential for facilitating knowledge transfer and strengthening Nigeria’s space sector for sustainable development.

He made this known while receiving a delegation from Shanghai Space Sail Technologies Co. Ltd. at NASRDA’s headquarters in Abuja.

Dr. Adepoju who emphasized the importance of delivering quality services, noted that excellence enhances institutional reputation and boosts global competitiveness.

He added that the proposed collaboration with Shanghai Space Sail would enhance capacity building , NASRDA is ready to explore areas of mutual interest, particularly in leveraging emerging technologies for national development.

The NASRDA boss also reaffirmed the Agency’s commitment to advancing Nigeria’s space ecosystem through innovative collaborations, while identifying communication satellites as one of its key operational priorities.

In his remarks, the Sales Director of Shanghai Space Sail Technologies Co. Ltd., Mr. Antoni Tang, expressed appreciation over the warm reception while commending NASRDA’s efforts in advancing space technology.

He said his organisation looks forward to collaborating with NASRDA in areas such as satellite constellation development, maintenance, and spectrum services to promote innovation and development.

In a virtual presentation, the Head of Technical Solutions at Shanghai Space Sail, Mr. Allen Jiang, highlighted the company’s technical capabilities and expressed optimism that a partnership with NASRDA would be groundbreaking, result-oriented, and mutually beneficial to both organisations.
