September 2026 was a month of strategic engagements and growing visibility for the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), as the Director-General/Chief Executive, Prof. Matthew Olumide Adepoju, led and participated in high-level activities across Nigeria and internationally. From technical engagements in Israel and participation in major space forums in Paris and Shanghai, to diplomatic engagements and meetings with key national and international stakeholders, these activities reinforced Nigeria’s commitment to advancing its space science and technology agenda.
Back home, NASRDA continued to strengthen partnerships that connect space technology with national development. The VLBI Project Toro reached 98% completion, while engagements with the Head of the Civil Service, the Spanish Ambassador and the Plateau State Government further advanced collaboration and the application of satellite technology to national priorities, including the discovery and sustainable development of mineral resources. Together, these engagements reflect NASRDA’s continued drive to build partnerships, expand opportunities and harness space science and technology for national development.
