NASRDA, COMMITTED TO THE TECHNOLOGICAL GROWTH OF NIGERIA- SHABA

The Director General, National Space Research and Development Agency, Dr. Halilu Ahmad Shaba has said that the agency is committed to leveraging its achievements and knowledge to further technological growth, not only within Nigeria but on a global scale. 

He made the statement during the opening ceremony of a two-day, in-house technical workshop on NASRDA’s Achievements and Prospects in Engineering, Research and Development, organized by the Department of Engineering and Space Systems of the Agency, in Abuja. 

Dr. Shaba further stated that, NASRDA has over the years, achieved significant milestones in Satellite Technology, Space Exploration, and groundbreaking Engineering projects. 

 He added that these accomplishments have not only contributed to the agency’s growth and reputation but have also advanced the fields of Space Science and Technology.

Dr. Shaba called on the participants to be attentive in order to gather adequate knowledge that will be beneficial to them in their conduct as well as the discharge of their duties. 

The event which was declared open by the Director General, had Centers Directors and top management staff of the Agency in attendance. 

Speaking earlier, the host and Director, Engineering and Space System, Dr. Olufemi Agboola explained that the workshop is not only an opportunity for NASRDA’s engineers to showcase the Agency’s accomplishments but also a platform to inspire and engage with the broader scientific and engineering community. 

Dr. Agboola charged the engineers to take all the lessons taught at the workshop seriously and provide a unique opportunity for NASRDA’s experts, engineers, and researchers to share their knowledge and experiences with fellow colleagues, stakeholders, and partners.

In his presentation, the Managing Partner; Hamo Economicus,Mr. Olatunde Bankole Bakare, titled; ‘Uniquely Position Our Involvement To Create Multi-Billion Naira Business Verticals In The 3rd Wave of Space Economy,’ noted that the 3rd wave of the space economy represents an exciting phase in the industry’s development, which is characterized by increased commercialization, innovation, and a broad spectrum of opportunities.

He further explained that the Agency’s involvement in this endeavour is set to transform the landscape of the space economy and contribute to the economic growth and technological advancement of the nation. 

 Mr. Bakare, added that NASRDA’s involvement will not only drive innovation and progress but also create multi-billion naira business verticals that will have a lasting impact on the space industry and beyond. 

He therefore called on engineers to harness their collective expertise and be determine to seize this incredible opportunity and lead the way into the future of space exploration and commerce.
