FREELY AVAILABLE SATELLITE IMAGES FROM NATIONAL SPACE RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT AGENCY

INTRODUCTION
I am delighted to inform you that the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA) in line with the provisions of the NASRDA Act 2010 has made the following images available to the public for FREE.
a. 2.1m Panchromatic
b. 2.5m Panchromatic
c. 3.5m Panchromatic
d. 5m Multispectral
e. 8m Multispectral
f. 10m Multispectral
g. 16m Multispectral
h. 30m Multispectral
For the Multispectral images, the bands are Blue, Green, Red and Near Infra-Red

CONSIDERATION FOR DATA RELEASE

a. To access the satellite data, kindly send your request to the Director General/Chief Executive, National Space Research and Development Agency, Obasanjo Space Centre, Umaru Shehu Yaradua Way (Airport Road), Abuja, through : geodata@nasrda.gov.ng
b. Satellite images received should not be sold.
c. Satellite images received should not be used for commercial purposes.
d. Satellite image request should NOT be more than 50km2 spatial extent at a time, for images with spatial resolution below 10m.
e. A summary of the project requiring the satellite image should be presented in the request (Half a paragraph: Title, State, Local Government, Town, Application Type-Environment, Climate, Urban Planning, Natural resource management etc).
f. Data collection will be delivered through DROPBOX. (No Need to come to NASRDA)
g. Request should include a shapefile for area of interest (Geographic Coordinate System with WGS84 Datum).
Note: Students are encouraged to request for the satellite images for their research projects.
