As part of his strategic efforts towards the successful implementation of the Nigeria Space Programme and Policy, the Director General of the National Space research and Development Agency, Dr Matthew Adepoju is part of the critical players at the on-going NACCIMA-GABA Trade mission to Michigan in the United States, designed to foster business opportunities, trade connections and collaboration between Africa and the state of Michigan.
A statement by the Director, Media and Corporate Communications of NASRDA, Dr Felix Ale says, at the historic event, Dr Adepoju spoke on the activities of the National Space research and Development Agency, its relevance in the realm of blue economy, as well as its successful drive and potentials for the great people of Nigeria and humanity in general.
The NASRDA boss explained that the Nigeria space programme is all embracing with special focus on socio-economic development of the country.
He expressed delight for being part of the great global event which according to him provides a unique platform for future collaborations and partnership for the development and actualisation of the Nigeria space agenda.
Dr Adepoju also reaffirmed his determination to do the best he could in taking the space Agency to greater heights in the lifespan of his administration as Chief Executive of the Agency.
The Africa team to the global event was led by the President of NACCIMA to the Port of MONROE, where delegates were received by the Mayor of the city of MOROE, Mr Robert E. Clark.
The Port has become an economic growth pole for the city because it has attracted industrial development such as wind energy turbine, lithium battery production amongst several others.
The team was also at the Detroit Ports Authority to explore partnership opportunities with blue economy and space technology through maritime domain awareness.
Another highlight of the conference was a reception and presentation of investment opportunities in smart city development and tech-hubs where the Director General of the National Space Research and Development Agency was also a principal actor.
