NASRDA, DSA STRENGTHEN TIES ON SPACE EXPLOIT FOR NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT

The Director General, National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), Dr. Matthew Adepoju, has called for improved collaboration among key players in Nigeria’s space ecosystem to deliver innovative solutions for national development. 

 He made the remarks when playing host to the newly appointed Chief of Defence Space Administration (DSA), and his principal officers who paid him a courtesy visit at the Agency’s Headquarters in Abuja. 

 Dr Adepoju emphasized the importance of cooperation between both parties, particularly in the areas of security, capacity building and other critical sectors, saying,security is key in the developmental efforts of any nation. 

 While congratulating the newly appointed Chief of Defence Space Administration, the NASRDA boss described him as a seasoned technocrat in the space ecosystem and a valued member of the NASRDA family. 

 Dr. Adepoju expressed confidence that the appointment would bring about significant growth and progress in the space sector, particularly in the current drive to enhance the nation’s capabilities in field of space technology and administration. 

 He said NASRDA has undertaken several joint projects aimed at addressing security challenges and reiterated the Agency’s commitment to developing technologies that will enhance national security in order to create a secure and conducive environment for both military and civilians. 

 Dr. Adepoju assured the delegation that NASRDA is fully committed to supporting the vision of the Defense Space Administration especially in the area of capacity building and joint initiatives that will be impactful within a stipulated timeframe. 

 Speaking earlier the Chief of Defence Space Administration, Air Vice Marshal Ibrahim Oluwatoyin, appreciated the NASRDA boss for the numerous contributions and support the DSA has enjoyed from past collaboration with the Space Agency.

 Air Vice Marshal Oluwatoyin described the visit as homecoming, noting that he has worked closely with various members of the management team of the Agency. 

 The Chief of Defence Space Agency emphasized the need for a stronger partnership and relationship in technical collaboration, capacity building, and joint projects, stating that the security of Nigeria is both a professional goal and a moral responsibility. 

He therefore expressed gratitude to Dr. Adepoju and the entire management staff of the Agency for the red carpet reception accorded him and his principal officers during the visit.
