NASRDA Aims for Several Satellites by 2030

The Director General, National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), Dr. Matthew Adepoju, has said that the Agency is working towards deploying 100 satellites in space by the year 2030. 

 Dr. Adepoju made this statement while receiving a delegation from LU HAI KONG JIAN Information Technology Company Limited (LHK) at the Agency’s Headquarters in Abuja. 

 He revealed that this lofty goal hopes to be achieved through Public Private Partnerships, with offers already pouring in from both local and international stakeholders eager to collaborate.

 The NASRDA Boss emphasized the crucial role of space technology in modern society, affirming NASRDA’s readiness to become Africa’s leading hub for space exploration. 

 He assured the delegation of the Agency’s willingness to partner with LHK, adding that understanding the cost structure of proposed projects is vital to the success of any prospective collaborations.

 In his presentation, Jianxiang Qiu, from LHK gave an overview of the company, highlighting their focus on providing Higher Spatial Resolution, Better Area Coverage, and more Frequent Service Capacity.

 He explained that LHK’s primary business area revolves around the vertical integration of the industrial chain, which enables them to gradually reduce the cost of satellites and rapidly build constellation service capabilities.

 LU HAI KONG JIAN Information Technology Company Ltd (LHK) is a company jointly initiated by the Maritime Aerospace Equipment Innovation Center and Academician Li Deren from the State Key Laboratory of Information Engineering in Surveying, Mapping, and Remote Sensing (LIESMARS) of Wuhan University.
