The Director General, National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), Dr. Matthew Adepoju has charged students of tertiary institutions in the country to invest the technical know how they have acquired in advancing the course of nation building.
The NASRDA boss gave this charge when he played host to a delegation from the National Association of Polytechnic Students, NAPS, at the Agency’s Headquarters in Abuja.
Dr Adepoju who described Polytechnic education as the hub of practical knowledge where students are given the rudiments for technological impact, stated that the basis for the advancement of every society is hinged on its effective application guided by a high level of precision.
He encouraged the students not to feel inferior before university students, but to always display a high sense of responsibility by showing great potentials deeply rooted in their educational orientation.
According to him, the basis for advancement is dedication, commitment and hardwork, which he described as a pathway to success culminating in the development of the society.
Speaking earlier, the leader of the delegation Ambassador Abdulmalik Usman said, the association is proud to be associated with NASRDA due to its remarkable achievements, adding that the recent appointment of the Director General points to the crop of intelligentsia domiciled in the Space Agency.
He described Dr Adepoju as an astute leader, technocrat and result oriented personality equipped with the requisite skills and capacity to deliver as well as steer the Agency towards the advancement of the Nigerian society.
According to him, the association is willing to tap from the immense potential in the space Agency, which is considered a frontliner institution in the development of science and technology in the country.
The high point of the event was the presentation of award of excellence to the Director General and Chief Executive of NASRDA in recognition of his purposeful and dynamic leadership towards transformation of our society.
