NASRDA BOSS HARPS ON AGENCY’S COMMITMENT TO ADVANCING KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE.

The Director General, National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), Dr. Halilu Ahmad Shaba, has expressed the agency’s commitment to collaborating with relevant stakeholders to enhance knowledge and expertise through training in synthetic aperture radar for improved surveillance, security, and disaster management capabilities. 

 He stated this during the closing ceremony of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) Training Programme organized for the personnel of the Nigeria Airforce at the Agency’s Headquarters in Abuja. Dr. Shaba explained that the collaboration between NASRDA and the Nigerian Air Force marks a critical step towards strengthening national security infrastructure, saying the agency aims at equipping participants with advanced SAR knowledge, to bolster the Air Force’s ability to conduct all-weather, day-and-night surveillance. Dr. Shaba, commended both the organizers and the participants, for the combined dedication and efforts which according to him played a key role in the success of the programme. In his remarks, the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar represented by the Chief of Air Intelligence, Air Vice Marshal Jibrin Ogohi, appreciated the Space Agency for the professionalism shown during the training programme and the opportunity given to participants to learn. 

 Air Marshal Abubakar described the training as timely and outstanding in view of the availability of required facilities and highly knowledgeable staff within the Space Agency. 

 While noting that the purpose of the training was to develop skills in the technical aspect relevant to the activities of the Nigerian Airforce, Air Vice Marshall Ogohi expressed satisfaction on the relevance and successful completion of the training, saying it has equipped participants with tools and techniques to enhance their professional capabilities. 

 The Acting Managing Director, Geoapps Plus Limited, the marketing arm of the Space Agency, Mr Emmanuel Onwubuariri encouraged the participants to effectively make good use of the experience and knowledge acquired during the programme for the overall benefits of our great nation. 

 Mr Onwubuariri who charged the participants to be good ambassadors of the Space Agency also urged them to use the various platforms at their disposals to advertise the training programme so that young and well-meaning Nigerians can participate in the interest of nation building. 

 The highlight of the event was the presentation of certificates of attendance to participants by NASRDA boss,Dr Halilu Shaba.
